Redesign the Classroom: Using Design Thinking
Students interviewed others in order to understand that individual's challenges, needs, and desires with their current classroom design.
In groups, students now had to sort through the information they gathered and define a specific need for one specific user.
Groups of four spent time ideating, or brainstorming, as many ideas as they could, trying to solve the users need. The goal was to "go big" and "think outside the box."
Groups or pairs chose one idea to bring to the prototype stage. Using cheap, limited materials, students created a model of their idea to then show the class and to test on the user. After testing, groups prototyped again until a final design was created.
